When we heard "It's gonna be a boy"

We wore smiles so big and wide

We went around and told the world

Oh how we beamed with pride

And when we brought you home with us

And put you down to sleep

Your dad and I sat up and talked

Of promises to keep

And when you grow and learn to read

And look upon this poem

You'll see how much we've loved you

Since the day we brought you home.
