When I was just a little child

How I looked up to you

I treasured all the times we spent

At the park, the gym, the zoo

I didn't know how hard you worked

To keep me clothed and fed

To make sure I was safe and sound

When you tucked me into bed

From you I learned the meaning

of hard work and honesty

I learned that I could chase my dreams

Because you believed in me

And now with children of my own

I realize the task you had

And I'm proud to be the daughter
